Soooooo….just so you know, I don’t give in to Ellie and sing to her every time she needs a diaper change after already being put to bed. She is pretty smart, and gets me with a lot of her stall tactics, but I figured this one out long ago.
Although. I have, in the past, changed THREE diapers within a half hour of putting her to bed.
I can’t leave her in a wet diaper because they are cloth, and who could go to sleep feeling wet and icky? Usually when she asks me to sing one more time I say, “No.” and put her back in bed. I only gave in this time because she made me laugh and it didn’t seem fair to say no.
I definitely have to work on holding my composure in the future, that girl’s getting more and more clever with words by the day.
You are right, once you lose your composure there is nothing else left to do but go along. There will be other times!
