We’re already doing it. Taking far fewer pictures of Abram than we did of Ellie. I think we have about 100 pictures of Ellie just from her three days in the hospital. Abram got about 5. Sorry little guy, it’s not that we care about you less, it’s just real life.
We started trying to remember to get the camera out more, so here’s a little look at Abram in his first week of life.
Just a few hours old, meeting big sister for the first time.
So far, Ellie really likes her new brother. She loves to give him kisses and help change diapers. He loves to listen to her voice and tunes right in each time he hears her. Even while nursing, if he hears Ellie he will stop and listen to his sister talking. Or singing. Or yelling.
My birthing center had super cozy rooms. The comfort factor was lessened significantly by the nurses who would call me every two hours, day and night, to ask me if Abram had nursed. On the odd hours they would call to ask me if he had pooped. The don’t seem to understand the concept of “consolidated steps”.
These past few days he’s started to open his eyes.
I cut his fingernails on our first day home and snipped not one, but two fingers too short making them bleed. A little too confident I suppose. Don’t worry, there was no baby torture during his second manicure.
Hanging out with Daddy, checking out his hands.
With his Grammy.
(We’re still waiting for his big fat goose egg to go down, it’s slowly getting better.)
hi, Kristie! It’s Rachel, from playgroup. Abram is adorable…what a beautiful baby. Congratulations! Did you know that I’m pregnant? I can’t remember if I told you or not. It’s been awhile since we’ve touched base. I’m also having a boy. Hope we see you and Ellie and Abram soon!
