This conversation happened on the sidewalk. I was pushing Ellie in the stroller and wearing Abram in the sling. Actually, a version of this conversation has happened to me twice now. Older lady: (almost running into me as she tries to peer into the sling) Is that a real baby? Or a fake one? Kristie: [...]
I see… …Abram sleeping oh so sweetly. I hear… …Ellie singing “God Lubs Me” while she works on her puzzles. I touch…the clean laundry I’m folding. (well they can’t ALL be cute, a Momma can’t just sit idly by while she counts her blessings…plus, I needed something to round out my theme)
In the bathroom. I’m trying to up-play the praise and (hopefully) downplay the M&M reward. Kristie: Yay!!! You did it Ellie! What a big girl you are! Hiiiiiiigh Five!!!(in a “Come on Down” voice of excitement) Ellie: (gives me the high five. Then in her own “Come on Down” voice of excitement) Geeeeeet M-N!!!
