I know Ellie is most often the star of the Real Conversations. I also know that I did another Ellie-isms post not too long ago. But I can’t help it, there is just too much cute and fun things she says. Here are three of my favorites:

Ellie explains things…

Ellie: The sun is in the sky, that’s because it is day. When it is night the moon is in the sky. The sun and moon are in the sky because they are delicate.
(Perhaps a little unclear on the meaning of “delicate”. Kind of fuzzy on usage of “because” too.)

I don’t tend to be an overly sentimental mother. I haven’t saved things like the first lock of hair or first drawing. Crawling, walking, weaning, toddler bed, not a blink. And with each milestone reached I am excited and joyed by the accomplishment rather than saddened by a loss of babyness.

We got Ellie the Memory Game and have been teaching her how to play it. On her turn Ellie turned over a card with a picture of a hot dog.
Kristie: Oh! That’s a hot dog. Did we see a hot dog before?
Ellie: (nods)
Kristie: Yeah. Do you remember where?
Ellie: (nods again) On your plate.
