Our little Taiwanese Christmas tree this year, featuring….
…my very first “Mommy ornaments”!!! (Thanks to our playgroup Christmas party craft.)
After we hung them up Ellie exclaimed, “Now our tree has a star and EVERYTHING!!” On another occasion she said, “Our tree is SO beautiful!”
Doesn’t seem to bother her one bit that it is an eight inch tall potted cypress. It can be tough to find a suitable tree around here. I think most people go with artificial ones, but Jason and I just can’t give in and go that route for various philosophical reasons and storage issues. Although the little fake tree by IKEA is passable, so maybe next year.
We did see some actual Christmas trees in the flower market where we bought this baby cypress. They were cut fir trees with stands. The scragglediest, most pitiful Charlie Brown trees I have ever seen. Maybe four feet tall, dry and stringy. And uneven. We asked how much, just for kicks. Almost $200!!! Um, no thanks.
At least you’ve got a tree… ours is just an artificial garland wrapped up our lamp… but it’s got the same stars thanks to you!!!
I think your tree is beautiful, too.
