Healed

My children have been healed. And I am praising God.

Last week I was torn up with worry over the amount of antibiotics they were taking and wondering if they would ever be healed and truly considering the very real possibility that they would stay sick until summer and we would need to bring them home and try the doctors on the US side.

On the advice of a doctor from our church we stopped their antibiotics on Sunday and planned to go to his clinic on Wednesday and explore the possibility that allergies were to blame.

Then on Monday one of Jason’s classmates stopped by hoping to  talk with Jason about his summer internship plans. Jason was away at class, but he talked with me for a moment and then asked if he could pray for our children. He put a hand on each of them and prayed for the LORD’s healing.

That very day they both started to get better. On Tuesday they were completely better and we cancelled our doctor’s appointment.

Hallelujah!

But you know what? It still took me a few days to realize Abram and Ellie were healed miraculously through prayer and I should be praising God for His grace.

At the same time I realized that if they had been healed by medicine I should just the same be praising God for His grace. I realized that all to often I fail to see the miraculous in the mundane and therefore miss out on opportunities for praise. The small things, the everyday things, from washing machines to healings, God is in it all.
