Remember Ellie’s modeling gig last year?
I just went back and read that post that I wrote last November when I put up Ellie’s picture. You know, it’s really fun to go back and read your own blog. Really fun. I don’t do it very much, but I think I should more because I just spent the last 10 minutes laughing.
Not really laughing about what I wrote, but laughing remembering the day I was writing about. You see, in the last paragraph of the post about Ellie I mention that Abram had just done his first modeling job the day before. Which happened to be Thanksgiving Day.
What I didn’t write is that because it was Thanksgiving Day our play group was having a Thanksgiving lunch party. I had signed up to bring some cut-up raw veggies. Then Abram got scheduled for a job from 9 to 11 the same morning. But I figured we could still make it to lunch. I just took a 9×13 Pyrex pan full of carrot strips and celery slices along with me to the studio and planned to hop a cab straight over to play group once Abram finished.
We ended up having to wait 40 minutes because the photographer was late setting up. By 11:30 I had two hungry (read: crabby) kids and Abram still had several outfits to go. So I whip out my 9×13 Pyrex pan full of fresh veggies and start fending off the crazed zoo animals (read: my kids). The staff is like, “You are Supermom.” As though I regularly cart around glass trays filled to the brim with healthy snacks. Ha!
Anyways, I showed up to the Thanksgiving lunch with a half-eaten veggie tray AFTER the last guests were leaving. And this is the catalogue cover they ended up with:
I’m not really sure why they chose this picture. I’m surprised Abram made the catalogue at all, seeing as how he pretty much cried like this the entire time. Well, until he fell asleep, that is. But, yeah, this is the one they chose.
He’s been busy working this past month, so stay tuned (until next fall) for those pictures.

原來,哭也是一種美! 我超愛這張!
I remember that day… and I was glad the kids didn’t eat the whole pyrex dish of veggies because we enjoyed some of them after the other guests left too!
I also remember how I so enjoyed you and the kids just being around that day – just like a real family Thanksgiving day when you just hang out all day long… That’s a hilarious photo of Abram… I’m not sure I’d recognize him – he’s so grown up now!
Oh my goodness, that is too funny!
Abram is adorable.
That picture… is funny but dang, also mommy heart cries out.
