My name is Kristie. I am a small town girl living in the big city.

I am a learner. Learning how to love my husband and how to love my children. Learning how to work hard at home. Learning how to be kind. Learning how to honor the Word of God. Learning how to love Jesus.

I am learning these things while operating in a different culture. In a second language.

I make a lot of mistakes. That is how I learn.

Why did I choose concrete for my blog background? Taiwan is constructed out of concrete. It is used with no excuse or apology for the fact that it is just so darn….ugly. A lot of life is ugly, too. Full of sin and mistakes and ugliness. But there is a Savior and He is Light. He redeems our ugly. I want this blog to show that process, the process of redeeming the ugly and finding spots of light in the midst of the grunginess of life.
