The scene in Isaiah 43 depicts the mighty hand of God who with active, passionate, authoritative power exalts and honors His people because He loves them and they are His.
The Lord says, "I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are mine."
On what basis can our Redeemer make such a claim? "For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior...your King" and "Before me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord."
How secure is our election as sons and daughters of our Savior and King? "There is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?"
What is God's good pleasure in electing us? "This people I have formed for Myself...whom I have created for My glory...they shall declare My praise."
The God who has declared and saved, and has proclaimed; in whose sight we are precious, honored, and loved commands us to "fear not" and to "behold"; Our God says, "look! For I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?"
In the new era of redemption God calls His people from the East, and gathers them from the West to be His witnesses among the nations that He is God so that we may know, believe, and understand who He is. With a mighty hand and an outstretched arm the Lord of Hosts calls us to be His people, knows us by name, and blesses us in the promise that, "You shall be My people, and I will be your God" (Jer. 30:22).
