Background: The way that Ellie says ‘girl’ sounds like ‘grill’. Apparently more than just “sounds like”.
Jason: Guess what we’re having for lunch Ellie! Grilled cheese sandwiches!
Ellie: (thinks a moment)….Is Daddy going to have a boy cheese sandwich?
Jason: (laughs) Okay, let’s talk about the word “grill”. “Grilled” means that the sandwich will be cooked. But you are a “girl“. You see? Grill. Girl.
Ellie: (thinks again)….So Daddy’s sandwich won’t be cooked? It is a boy cheese sandwich?
Jason: Right, Ellie.
Yawn.
We’re working through the jet lag and getting back into the swing of things here. Ellie has culture shock. She doesn’t seem to remember things here, which is interesting.
I still want to post about some of the things we did back in the US, so the blog may experience some multiple seasonal personalities because we had summer in Virginia, sweatshirt weather in Vermont, then back to summer in Taiwan. But I’ve got lots of great pictures, so you (hopefully) have lots to look forward to.
